An enigmatic Greek bronze coin
Lot 458
WESTERN ASIA MINOR, Uncertain. 4th century BC. AE (Bronze, 11 mm, 0.95 g, 12 h). Laureate head of Apollo to left. Rev. [A]ΣA/ΓON Spearhead to right. Apparently unpublished and very interesting. Light corrosion on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.

The reverse legend on this mysterious coin reads .ΣA/ΓON, with the first letter likely being an A. Unfortunately, none of our sources knows of such a place and we are therefore left in the dark as to where the coin was struck
